As a recently elected
Trustee of the Chautauqua Institution, a 130-year-old Western New York
cultural center with a nine-week summer season, I look forward to helping
maintain the momentum the Visual Arts have gained here in the last several
years. While President of the Chautauqua Center for the Visual Arts
(fondly known as the CCVA), I spent a great deal of time working on the
merger of the major exhibition space on the Chautauqua grounds with the
Chautauqua School of Art.... a collaboration that now finds the merged
entities working together under the auspices of the Institution. The New
CCVA brings artists, teachers, students and lecturers to its School and
Galleries from all over the country, kicking off each season with a juried
National Exhibition of American Art.
